XLRI Jamshedpur and Xavier Institute of Management and Research [XIMR] have joined hands to offer a unique Postgraduate Certificate Program in General Management in classroom environment in the heart of Mumbai.
This proposed program will allow executives to pursue a rigorous schedule that helps them leverage classroom learning to their professional roles. Participants will develop a holistic General Management and Business Leadership perspective.

The program will include core courses in key functional areas (Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and Operations), besides General Management courses.

The programme is of 11 months duration with four terms. The programme comprises of 15 compulsory courses and a dissertation spread over the four terms. The programme will start with a two day induction at XLRI, Jamshedpur and then the rest of the classes will be held at St. Xavier's College Campus in Mumbai.

The students are expected to spend time on projects and assignments, which would be about 25 hours per course. Term end examination will be held on completion of each term.

Dissertation

The participant will choose an area of his/her interest. Closely working with their faculty guides, they will identify a real problem related to the current corporate environment or some issues related to their organizations and do an action based research on that. The project is equivalent to one course and would draw heavily from the learning of the previous terms. The evaluation will be by the faculty guide from XLRI and XIMR.

The examination and evaluation required for certification shall be carried out by XLRI, Jamshedpur and XIMR Mumbai. The faculty members teaching their respective courses will choose the method of evaluation most appropriate to the material. Each concerned faculty will evaluate the participants. Assessment in all the courses is continuous, varied and exacting. It emphasizes development of personal and professional competence as well as gaining of business knowledge and skills.

Postgraduate Certificate in General Management will be awarded to those candidates, who have obtained a minimum CQPI of 4.5 on a nine grade point provided the student has not obtained more than (i) one F or (ii) two D's. D+ is treated on par with D for this purpose.

After successful completion of all the courses the participants will be awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in General Management. The certificate will be awarded by XLRI Jamshedpur. The Graduation ceremony will be held at XLRI, Jamshedpur.

Term 1: October 27 - December 30, 2017
Term 2: January 05 - March 10, 2018
Term 3: March 16 - May 26, 2018
Term 4: June 01 - August 05, 2018

Participants will be selected based on interviews. Interviews will be jointly conducted by faculty of XLRI and XIMR.

The fee for the programme will be Rs. 4 lakhs + Tax per candidate. This will include tuition fees and other infrastructure necessities as required for an effective academic programme. This will not include board and lodging expenses.

Travel, board and lodging expenses will have to be borne by the participants during campus visits.

Eligibility and Requirements
The applicants of the 11 months programmes in Postgraduate Certificate in General Management (PGCGM) 2017 - 2018, for Mumbai based working executives and business owners should meet the following eligibility criteria:

1. Working Executives with Graduation from a recognized University in any discipline with minimum 2 years of experience.
2. Entrepreneurs with Graduation from a recognized University in any discipline, owning their own business for past 2 years.
