He has significant experience in theorizing consumer lived experience and subaltern consumption phenomena. His research on conspicuous consumption is now cited in the relevant literature. The Conspicuous Consumption Scale developed by him is used in consumer research. Dr. Roy Chaudhuri has been actively involved in research and teaching, the former being particularly important in his career plan. He has published many papers in peer-reviewed international journals of repute. As of date, his papers are being published/accepted/are in advanced stages of review in such reputed outlets like Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Business Research, European Journal of Marketing,Journal of Consumer Affairs, Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Macromarketing, Psychology & Marketing, Qualitative Marketing Research, etc. Recently he has published a co-edited book on Marketization, an evolving area of consumer research, with Prof. Russell Belk. Springer is the knowledge partner of this volume. Currently, he is co-editing a special Issue on Pandemic for the Journal of Consumer Affairs and Crisis Communication for Consumption, Markets & Culture. His current research projects are involved in examining issues of marginalization, identity, and coping in a stigmatized profession.
