Members shall not engage in conversation in any part of the library so as to cause annoyance to any other fellow reader. Help to maintain a quiet atmosphere for study.
Books removed from the shelves should be left on the reading table only after reading
Group discussions is strictly prohibited.
Tearing off pages, marking/highlighting with pencil or ink on the books should not be done
Students are not permitted to take any drinks (except water) or snacks etc.
Users should keep their mobile phones in the SILENT mode and should not attend calls inside the library
Avoid sitting on the reading table
After reading, newspapers should be folded properly and kept in the designated display
The book chapters and articles from the newspapers, magazines, journals may be photocopied.
Personal folders, bags etc should be kept in the property counter provided at the entrance.
The 'Pass Out’ slip should be shown to the security at the Security Checkpoint before taking the issued books out of the library.
The borrower shall be responsible for any damage or loss caused to the library books borrowed by him/her.
In case any library book is lost by student, the Head - Library should be immediately in formed
If the book cannot be traced within two weeks, the borrower will be asked either to replace or pay double the cost of the book if not available at the market or the MRP if available at the market including the overdue fine
If the book forms a part of a series. the borrower will be charged the replacement of the entire set or the fine as per the Point No: 14 would be levied.
Library books or any other reading materials should not be taken out of the library without the permission of the library staff. If any student is found violating this, he/she may be asked for a written explanation
Terminals provided at the Electronic Resources Centre should not be used for other computing and games activities.
While leaving the library, all the books and other reading material would be checked at the Security Checkpoint.
The arrangement of chairs and tables in the reading room should not be disturbed.
Upon any infringement of the library rules, any member found misbehaving, abusing the library staff or behaving in an indecent manner, members shall forfeit the privileges of admission and membership of the library. Head – Library reserves the rights on this.
