INSIGHT– The Annual XLRI Consulting Conference was held on November 21, 2011 in New Delhi. The theme of the conference was: Sustainability – The outlook of business and government. The conference brought forth thoughts on various dimensions of sustainability from a diverse and prestigious panel which included Mr. Anand Nayak (Head HR, ITC), Mr P.S. Narayan (VP and Head Sustainability, Wipro) etc. The experts talked about how to ensure that growth of country occurs at all levels while using our natural resources prudently.

 

Drishtikon, a national wide case study competition was held along with the conference which got participation from top B-Schools in India. Further XLRI took charge of launching a Green Campus Awareness Drive by collaborating with premier B Schools and engineering institutes to estimate their carbon footprint and chart a sustainable path forward for these institutions on the lines of an ongoing initiative at XLRI.

  Over the past decade India has enjoyed a dream run in economic growth and prosperity. However, in order to sustain this level of growth we must be prudent while using our natural resources in the future. We must ensure that the growth of the country occurs at all levels and across geographies rather than being limited to a few pockets and few classes. To ensure that India doesn’t deviate from its growth path, we as future corporates have to ensure that we build on sustainable development.

The conference will focus on various aspects of sustainability such as, but not limited to, economic sustainability, social sustainability and environmental sustainability.
