Dear Readers,
It is a pleasure to share the November issue of
Magis,
which features the inauguration
of the new academic session. This year a total of 537 highly talented and self-motivated
students from diverse educational backgrounds joined XLRI to chase their dreams of be-
coming dynamic leaders. During this period XLRI also earned the prestigious AACSB
accreditation and entered a select group of global B-schools to have received the accredita-
tion for its doctoral programme.
Encouraging Whole-Person Growth
At XLRI we strive towards
integral formation
whereby students are encouraged to nur-
ture their intellectual, emotional, spiritual and social persona to evolve as well-round-
ed human beings furthering greater common good. Student societies are set up to foster
whole-person growth
. Cultutal and sports fests like
Valhalla
and activities hosted by
societies like
XLANC
and
SportsComm
are the outcome of stupendous efforts put in by
students beyond their curriculum framework.
Promoting Entrepreneurship
The students in XLRI are always encouraged to think out of the box and find new paths to
pursue their endeavours. Many of our students have chosen to tread on the road less taken
and have started their own dream venture. This issue of Magis features their inspiring en-
trepreneurial stories of innovation and creativity.
Fostering Thought Leadership
XLRI hosts numerous conferences, seminars and orations on a regular basis to foster
thought leadership among internal and external stakeholders. The
Dr. Verghese Kurien
Memorial Oration
featured in this issue is an annual event that provides a platform for
discussion on sustainable development. It is amongst the many significant annual events
organised to foster and advance thought leadership.
Shaping Responsible Leaders
We hope that the articles covered in this issue give you a glimpse of our modest yet
consistent efforts to help shape responsible business leaders of tomorrow.
