LRI’s 58th
Convocation
ceremony was a gathering
of proud parents, exuberant
students and content faculty
members. Keeping with the 45-year-old
tradition, the institute conferred its presti-
gious Sir Jehangir Ghandy Medal for Social
and Industrial Peace on Chairman of SBI
Arundhati Bhattacharya, the first woman to
head the bank. She is also the first convoca-
tion speaker to receive the award.
In her convocation speech, Bhattacha-
rya reached out to the 2014 batch with her
mantra
on maintaining work, life balance.
“Even in the busiest of schedule the most
practical and effective way we can live is
by aligning our personal priorities of work,
family, health and well-being. Such re-
alignment can bring huge change in emo-
tional and physical energy not to mention
greater clarity and focus at work,” she said.
She suggested the students “To learn
what you want, define yourself in many
ways.” Getting one’s priorities right and
understanding self-worth in the corporate
world is essential to a fulfilling life. “All
my life I have never been consumed by
the fear of failure. I never defined myself
just as a banker. I had other roles: I was a
friend, a wife, a mother. There were other
