he XLRI
-IIMC Sports
Meet is one of the most-
awaited student events of
the year. The tournament, which
witnessed enthusiastic participation
from students of both the premier
B-schools, is more than four dec-
ades old. It is an annual event and
is hosted by both XLRI and IIMC
on alternate years.
The sports meet was all the more
important for XLRI students this
year, as they lifted the cup for the
sixth time at home turf. The final
scoreline was 10-7, in favour of
XLRI.
XLRI emerged victorious in table-
tennis (men and women), basket-
ball (men and women), volleyball
(men), athletics (men), throw ball
(women), chess, tennis and cricket.
The tournament concluded with
much fanfare and a token of ap-
preciation was handed over to the
IIM-C participants.

The event was carried out in
three rounds and the team with
maximum portfolio value at the
end of third round was declared as
winner. The objective was to help
the participants understand the chal-
lenges of trading prior to the onset
of electronic exchanges.
Cash prizes worth Rs 6,000
were distributed among the top
two teams.
King of
the Pit
King of the Pit, organised by
FINAX (Finance Association of
XLRI), saw participation from
over 190 students. The event was
based on the open outcry system
of trading, wherein the participants
had to attract prospective buyers
and sellers of their securities using
different methods, negotiate the
