Scintillating performances by artistes of
Ability Unlimited Foundation (AUF)
inaugurated the three-day Valhalla fest at
Tata Auditorium, XLRI. The perfectly co-
ordinated dance performances by 14 physi-
cally challenged artistes left the audience
spellbound.
The show began with a Sufi dance per-
formance on wheels followed by Bharat-
natyam. The performers showcased their
prowess in yoga and Manipuri martial arts
form, Thang Ta, all on wheels leaving the
audience awestruck.
The mission of Ability Unlimited Founda-
tion, an NGO, is to bring out the best in
persons with disabilities and help them
lead an independent life. Valhalla joins
hands with AUF in extending support to the
therapeutic education of differently-abled
persons. The core team of Valhalla donated
the proceeds of this year’s fest to the foun-
dation thus standing by the founding values
of XLRI – for the greater good.
Pro Show
Valhalla 2014 had its first ever pro show
with two bands performing back to back on
the same night.
The performance was opened by Swarath-
ma – the folk fusion band from Bengaluru.
Swarathma captivated the audience with
a brilliant mix of melody and energy. The
second performance was by rock-rap-elec-
tronic band Underground Authority.
Sporting events

football, table tennis, volleyball, badmin-
ton, throwball and chess matches scheduled
for participants. For adventure buffs there
was Quest Adventura that administered
sports like rappelling, plank race, rope
climbing etc. Inter B-School Debate and
SpEnt Quiz, a sports and entertainment
quiz, was also organised along with other
competitions.
Cultural events
Cultural events comprised stage play,
fashion show, solo dance, group dance,
street play and solo singing. A Tribal Music
Workshop saw a huge turnout both in terms
of active participation and support. The
workshop was organised in association
with Tata Tribal Cultural Centre in
the Tome Auditorium, XLRI. The flagship
theatre event of student society
DRAMATICS was a big success this
year.
The main attraction of the fest was the
energetic performances by folk-rock band
Swarathma and rap-rock band Underground
Authority.
