Ministhy Nair
is an Indian Administrative Services officer (IAS) in Uttar
Pradesh since 2003. As a senior civil servant with 11 years of work
experience in public service, she has handled policy formulation and
implementation at both secretariat and district levels.
Nair has worked as district magistrate and collector in four districts with
average population of more than 2.5 million people. She was the top
authority for maintaining law and order, handling elections, natural disasters
like floods, executing development programmes for multiple departments
like roads, prisons, agriculture (among 25 odd departments). She has also
worked as state project advisor and special secretary for technical education
and handled World Bank sponsored programmes for vocational and
technical education.
Awards & Accolades:
• Hindustan Times Woman of the Year 2014 award: For exemplary work done
for empowerment of women beyond the call of duty
• Election Commission Award from Governor of Uttar Pradesh on Voters’ Day for
exemplary work done to increase gender ratio by undertaking special efforts
in increasing the number of women voters in the district
• Awarded the Late Rajeev Narayan (IPS )Foundation Public Service Award
2013, which is given to one Indian Administrative Services Officer annually
for excellence in Public Service
• National Award for outstanding contribution as District Magistrate for
implementing National Rural Health Insurance Policy (Rashtriya Swasthya
Bhima Yojana) 2013 by Government of India
