We also produce
managers…
T
here are
plenty of unconventional ways to define
success and some of them who do so are often known to carry the XLRI
badge. The not so regular, the perpetual nonconformists and the benchmark
setters over the years have found association with this centre of excellence. From
their reservoir of innovative thinking, sometimes stimulating enough to change the
rules of the game, our XLRI alumni have carved out a separate identity for them-
selves in the corporate world and beyond. Here are some of our finds, but as you
will be reading this there will be many of our alumni creating his/her own history
in their own space.
Dilip Bam, XL’ 73
, has had
a tremendous serendipity with
career and life. Bam, well
known as bike guru among
friends, was in news for his
Roadies X1 audition in Pune.
His thirst for adventure has
taken him to Sahara desert on
a non-geared, small-wheeled
scooter, Kinetic Honda, in
1992. He has travelled from
Kashmir to Kanyakumari
thrice on bike. Apart from
teaching at MBA institutes,
he has been testing bikes for
more than 26 years.
Ajay Kaul, XL’89
, is the man behind the
30-minute pizza delivery challenge. It is need-
less to name the food chain, as Kaul has done
enough to make it a part of average Indian
dinner. His achievements are frequently cov-
ered by the media but what is little known is
his passion for singing. Kaul has his YouTube
channel of Kishore Kumar songs.
Remember this face!
Akash Khurana, XL’ 77
,
sneaked out of the corporate
lanes to be on the sets of
Bollywood. Khurana, always
a top-ranked student, is also
the alumnus of NITR and
TISS.
