Theatre
DRACULA, in keeping with its tradition of
providing the theatrical quotient to XLRI,
kick started the year with an English play
in Valhalla, the annual sports and cultural
fest. The cast was selected from college-
wide auditions and bagged the runner’s up
position.
As part of the Joy of Giving week, a fes-
tival of philanthropy, DRACULA concep-
tualised a street play on the given theme.
The script was conceptualised by the
committee members. The play was staged
at two locations in Jamshedpur to spread
awareness about the act of giving and the
satisfaction it brings.
Pumping music and groovy moves help put
a pause to the tedious routine of manage-
ment students. The Zumba sessions have
been started with an aim to encourage a
healthy and active lifestyle among students,
who otherwise are busy with assignments
and lectures. These sessions promise fitness
alongwith relaxation.
In the pipeline is a Salsa workshop
organised by the society. Aditya Upadhya,
founder and chief instructor at Vive la
Salsa, has been roped in to show Xlers how
to shake a leg, Latin style.
Quiz League
If you walk into a room in the middle of
the night with a motley bunch animatedly
trying to string meaning out of words and
pictures, chances are you have walked into
one of our Drac quizzes. DRACULA con-
ducts multiple general and topical quizzes
throughout the year as part of the quizzing
league. Akin to the high octane F1 season
points earned in each quiz contribute
towards identifying the Quizzer of the year.

The theatre group also conceptualised
and performed two plays amidst the hard-
core management events of Ensemble.
English play,
Black Comedy
, was a farce
based on black humour, while
Taj Mahal ka
Tender
in hindi was a light-hearted comedy
taking a dig at the bureaucratic scenario of
Indian business.
Shake a Leg
Ditch the workout, join the party!
Zumba sessions, a fun way to burn those
extra calories has been started as an initia-
tive of DRACULA. These weekly sessions
have been successful in dragging some
of the reluctant souls to the dance floor.
