LRI has
engaged many a
luminaries from diverse voca-
tions in its ethical endeavour.
Many a compelling anecdotes
of eminent personalities, in-
cluding JRD Tata, have inspired the past and
existing batches to achieve success with re-
sponsibility.
The XLRI JRD Tata Oration on Busi-
ness Ethics has stood as a platform for voic-
ing corporate concerns since its inception in
1991. Quite a few esteemed executives and
renowned academicians have shaped its list of
orators. An addition to the illustrious list was
this year’s speaker HRD Minister Dr Pallam
Raju Mallipudi. Dr Raju has been one of the
longest serving ministers in the defence port-
folio.
Dr Raju addressed the gathering on Ethi-
cal Challenges for India Today, the theme for
the 22nd ethics oration. He delved into three
different facets linked to ethics in India – edu-
cation, business and politics. In dealing with
