(9). The number of companies participating
in the process increased from 73 to 105 this
year. The major attraction this year was a
steep rise of 33 percent in the number of
offers made in finance.
while carlyle Group continued to
recruit summer interns exclusively from
XlRi, a European hedge-fund, a singa-
pore-based venture capital firm and World
Bank recruited summer interns for the first
time from the top-ranked mBA institute.
Goldman Sachs was the largest finance
recruiter followed by standard chartered
Bank. other recruiters included - BnP
Paribas, citibank, American Express, dBs,
HsBc Bank, Rabobank, nomura, Alti-
source, Federal Bank etc.
Placements at XlRi are a tremendous
team effort with the entire exercise being
carried out by a student-run Placement
committee along with the help from other
support committees.
The FmcG sector has been the forte of
XlRi. nearly 40 percent of the Business
management students landed up offers in
the FmcG sector. Unilever, Procter and
Gamble, iTc, Reckitt Benckiser, Kraft
cadbury, Asian Paints, GsK-cH, coca
cola, l’oreal , colgate Palmolive, dabur,
Kellogg’s, nestle, marico, Perfetti, mars,
Hindustan coca cola Beverages, Akzono-
bel, Vodafone, Airtel, castrol offered roles
in sales and marketing functions.
The healthcare sector was represented
by majors like novartis, Roche, Eli lilly,
medtronic, Becton dickinson, Boston
Scientific, Dr. Reddy’s, GSK Pharma,
Aurobindo Pharma and Apollo
Hospitals.
General management was once again
the preferred functional domain on campus
with major industry players like TAs,
Aditya Birla Group, cairn Energy, Reliance
industries, Philips and mahindra making
large number of offers.
The consulting domain saw participation
from companies like The Boston consult-
ing Group, Accenture management con-
sulting, Ernst & Young, KPmG, cognizant
Business consulting, deloitte, capgemini
consulting, wipro consulting, and iBm
consulting.
