XLRI leg ends for Global MBA
T
he XLRI
semester of Global
MBA programme concluded in
April with a farewell dinner for
students and staff. The Chinese and
American students return to their
base institutes. The entire batch will meet
for the next session in Case Western
Reserve University, Ohio, USA.
In-between Sessions
Student winners
Three students of Global MBA programme
— Sankalp Akash Singh, Anudeep Purwar
and Atul Kumar — represented XLRI at
The mai Bangkok Business Challenge
organised by Sasin Graduate School of
Business at Chulalongkorn University,
Thailand. They secured first position for
Sustainability and second overall (an Aus-
tralian team from Queensland was on the
top spot). The contest had participants from
48 B-schools (including Cornell University,
INSEAD, Nanyang University, ISB Hyder-
abad and others from around the world).
Rural visit
Global MBA students visited Neev, an
NGO based in the outskirts of Jamshedpur.
The organisation runs a soap factory where
rural women are employed and their chil-
dren are taught in a school run by the same
organisation.
US Consul General
The US Consul General in Kolkata, Helen
LaFave, visited the Global MBA students
for an-hour long session in April. She
hailed the newly started course, which can
prove to be a great on-site experience for
all students.
Plant visit
The students were taken for plant visits to
Tata Steel and Tata Motors.
Adventure Camp
The Global MBA students also had
the opportunity to attend the Tata Adven-
ture Camp. The students enjoyed different
events like trekking, rock climbing, and
other adventure activities. Students were
exposed to many adventure sports and
competitions.
