MAXI BAZAAR-

The official ice-

breaker for the junior batch. Seniors

and juniors work in teams, right from

conceptualizing a product that would

sell like hot cakes to devising a social

media marketing strategy for the same

and competing against each other to

make it the sensation that would put

Pokémon-Go to shame. All this while

having loads of fun and bonding over

cut-throat ad-war rivalry!

SECTION LEAGUE-

The sections locked

horns in this year’s section league –

Loony Platoons.

The event comprised

of multiple rounds, with the students

engaging in a one-of-its kind marketing

treasure hunt, where they had to

identify and correlate brands with

their taglines. A round of Beg, Borrow

and Steal ensured that the batch had

it’s thinking caps on, with innovative

responses to the branding needs

getting the prize.

AdTwist

- One of MAXI’s most fun and

popular events, AdTwist, compelled

everyone to bring out their creativity

and innovation by connecting movies

and TV Shows with brands and using

taglines. The Ad was to be posted on

Facebook and the one with maximum

likes won the competition.

MARKETING POCKETBOOK

- MAXI

also published a quick reference

mobile friendly Marketing Pocketbook

containing marketing strategies, small

cases and interview tips for quick

reference. The previous format was

completely overhauled to give way

to a new way of fun while reading

and was praised all around for its

comprehensiveness.

CIRCUS MAXIMUS

- MAXI organizes

a national level competition CIRCUS

MAXIMUS during Ensemble, XLRI’s annual

inter B-school fest. With four separate

rounds, this event is designed to pose a

formidable challenge to even the best

of brains. The on-campus rounds are

designed to test how teams can apply

Marketing concepts first in a simulation,

and then in the actual marketplace of

Jamshedpur. A PPI from Airtel was up for

grabs this year at the event.

MAXI ORIGINALS –

MAXI launched a

web-series on it’s YouTube channel and

Facebook page. The series is to have

original content, generated and curated

by MAXI.

awareness of teams while keeping their

minds distracted with fun games.

Hindustan Unilever Limited has designed

a marketing competition open to colleges,

and universities across the country to

create an advertising campaign for Axe

Deo’s latest offering, the Axe Ticket.

MAXI FAIR –

MAXI conducted the 39

th

MAXI Fair, presented by South Indian

Bank, and supported by Hero MotoCorp

in partnership with Nielsen. With 6

research problems this year, it saw

record breaking participation from the

students who got hands-on experience

on disguised marketing research. The

Marketing Association of XLRI (MAXI)

students competed with each other by

designing games and events as surrogates

to research questions to elicit information

from the people of Jamshedpur regarding

their preferences and perceptions and

thus determining consumer behavior. This

year the event saw MAXI implementing a

digital game, to identify the buying habits

with regard to pricing for the Jamshedpur

crowd.
