2017 was another successful year for Student Investment Fund. As part of its

endeavor to cover more sectors, the fund started coverage of the financial services

sector in addition to the banking sector. Consequently, the junior team size was

increased to 6 from 5. On the operational side, the fund had changed its legal

structure to have faculty members as permanent trustee as opposed to rotating

trustees earlier. This will give a professional structure to the fund and streamline

investment activities. It initiated the process of having industry stalwarts review

the equity research work done by the team and we hope to deepen our ties with

the industry in years to come. It also aims to cover more sectors and incorporate

new strategies to achieve superior returns on a consistent basis.
